277. Familial Dedication

This located outside Our Lady of Mount Carmel convent, in East Boston. It struck me as sad, but beautiful, that this man dedicated this statue to his wife and son.

82. Peace seekers

When I arrived at church this morning there were rows of people in my regular section. At first, I was outraged - people, in my seat! I sit there every week!

I then found out they were a group visiting from Nigeria to learn to how to broker peace between religious groups. I was sitting next to a Muslim woman named Saima, and I could not help but be in awe of the risks they are undertaking, and all they are giving up for this opportunity.

I only wish we had sung "Rejoice and Be Glad" today. (Matthew 5:9, Blest are the peacemakers; they shall be called sons of God (alternately sung as, they are the children of God)

Lets all go and seek to create peace.
