110. Where am I?

If you were to guess, where would you think this beach was? The cape, perhaps?

Not quite... Look a little more closely, here.

That would be Wollaston Beach, Quincy.

106. Summer mornings on the beach

Summer mornings on the beach are a blessing in and of itself. They are so serene, the perfect way to start a day.

94. Community Integration

I visited Arts in the Park last night with my sister, to enjoy the sonorous musical stylings of Java Jive. It was quite the event, but the most important aspect (aside from the free "Quincy Punch"* and hoodsies) was the community integration. Ten years ago this event would have been entirely Anglo. Last night I would say at least a quarter if not half of the observers were non-Anglo (mostly of East Asian descent). There were even some mixed couples! This change in community dynamics gave me hope for the future.

Boogie on over to Quincy Daily Photo to check out Slim's photo.

*Quincy punch is not an actual drink, but what my sister calls the suspiciously watered down fruit drink served at all City of Quincy functions.

75. Non-destructive pranks

I saw this one morning in the parking lot at work. No permanent damage to the car, but it sure gave me a chuckle.

68. Reading at the beach

Another favorite summer time activity is reading at the beach. While most people do this during the day, it is also lovely in the evening. A nice cool place to push through those summer readings assignments, with a lovely view of Boston in the distance!

Update on lost time...

I fell off my bike, down the stairs, and then had the bike fall on me the other day and was thus out of commission for a bit. I'm feeling better, the swelling of my ankle has definately gone down. Just don't look at the bruises on my legs :]

So, today I am thankful for a quick recovery.

46. Cleansing rains

Most of the time I don't like it when it rains, because it makes me ache. Today, I am thankful because it clears the pollen away to deplete my allergies, and helps the lovely flowers grow. The next few days will be a series of flora at Eastern Nazarene College.

44. Little House

This little building is actually a house, with people living in it, where they get mail. It is so small in comparison it looks like something out a story book.
