I am so thankful for modern travel. I can get on a plane, travel across the country or across the world, to the people who mean the most to me, or to find amazing new adventures.
Very, very thankful.
This blog is being used to document the beauty of the world around me, which occurs every day but is too often over looked. By taking this time to reflect I hope to better appreciate life, and to share this with others.

111. New Beginnings
As some may know, I recently moved out to Newton. Today, I am thankful for the opportunity of new beginnings.

88. Abnormally Large Objects
This huge map flag pin is part of a new tourism initiative in Boston. This particular point is for the frog pond. The city is encouraging everyone, visitors and natives, to visit the pins.

26. Flying Squirrels
Straight up, taxidermy freaks.me.out. Nonetheless, these flying squirrels are pretty bangin'. I saw them at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. For the price, its a nice day. And really, these animals are just plain amazing.

20. Adventureous Children
Taken the other day, at the Frog Pond, this young boy having adventures brought a smile to my face. So fearless and excited for life!

9. Boston
While walking around between classes at Umass Boston I realized its actually very close to what most people conventionally consider Boston. This photo was taken between the Quinn Administration building and the Clark Athletic Center. The true reason I am thankful for Boston is all the opportunities it offers, culturally, gastronomically, historically, spiritually, and for social observation. Its just big enough for me, where I can feel lost in the crowd but never lost or entirely alone (or unsafe). And good bargains can be had without sacrificing my safety(if you know where to look) ... so many adventures to be had!

5. Happy Accidents
We had dinner last night at the Smile Thai Cafe, our favorite Thai restaurant in Cambridge. We usually order the same meals each time, but last night I ordered something different (mango fried rice) and he attempted to order Basil Pad Thai (light on the spice) with chicken and shrimp. Out came chicken and shrimp spicy basil - which was a wonderful surprise! It was yummy and not something we would have ordered otherwise.
In celebration of a recent event, we also got a fried banana, which we had been discussing for some time as I had never had one. These were not what my dining companion expected either, so it was happy accidents everywhere. :]
