A sweet fellow took me for a picnic on the fields at MIT recently. Nothing fancy, but an absolutely wonderful time :].

212. Freedom of Speech

There was a protest in Harvard Square, Cambridge, today. People asking, where is my vote, in response to the election results released by the Iranian government. I don't claim to know whats right or wrong, but this employment of the right to free speech was a thing of beauty, particularly on this rainy sunday. Things were clearly quite different in Iran.

210. Outcry

This is on the Charles River in Cambridge. There have been many-a-day I've felt over-worked and under-appreciated, and after driving by this graphitie I shake my fist with a "yeah!" of solidarity. Somehow knowing I'm not the only one who could use a little recognition makes it a little better.

While I was waiting for a store to open this cute little chickadee landed on the car just in front of mine. He is just so plump and cute, it made me smile.

Driving home today I saw a cab with the words "Do Good Often" written just above the headlights across the hood. Today I am thankful for attempts at good karma by others.

26. Flying Squirrels

Straight up, taxidermy freaks.me.out. Nonetheless, these flying squirrels are pretty bangin'. I saw them at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. For the price, its a nice day. And really, these animals are just plain amazing.

Passing by the Memorial Church at Harvard I saw this sight... it was just so striking I had to capture it.

Also to be thankful for - I got a clear bill of health from the doctor today! No cancer, woot!

5. Happy Accidents

We had dinner last night at the Smile Thai Cafe, our favorite Thai restaurant in Cambridge. We usually order the same meals each time, but last night I ordered something different (mango fried rice) and he attempted to order Basil Pad Thai (light on the spice) with chicken and shrimp. Out came chicken and shrimp spicy basil - which was a wonderful surprise! It was yummy and not something we would have ordered otherwise.

In celebration of a recent event, we also got a fried banana, which we had been discussing for some time as I had never had one. These were not what my dining companion expected either, so it was happy accidents everywhere. :]
