83. Men dressed like Mick Jagger

There was a man at UMB today that I almost chased down the hall with my camera. As an asault with a camera would show up on a CORI check, I'll describe him instead. (We do want me to be employed someday, right?)

He had wavy dark hair and glasses, a lime green collared shirt, black pin stripe pants completing the ensemble with a wallet on a chain. I swear I've seen a picture of Mick Jagger dressed like this, but can't seem to find it now.

I don't sit in judgement of this man's fashion, but in awe and happiness that he feels so sure of himself and so pleased that he goes forth as thus.

You go, lime shirt/tight pinstripe pant man!

(There is currently a typhoon going on outside! Its amazing as well!)

82. Peace seekers

When I arrived at church this morning there were rows of people in my regular section. At first, I was outraged - people, in my seat! I sit there every week!

I then found out they were a group visiting from Nigeria to learn to how to broker peace between religious groups. I was sitting next to a Muslim woman named Saima, and I could not help but be in awe of the risks they are undertaking, and all they are giving up for this opportunity.

I only wish we had sung "Rejoice and Be Glad" today. (Matthew 5:9, Blest are the peacemakers; they shall be called sons of God (alternately sung as, they are the children of God)

Lets all go and seek to create peace.

81. Senior Centers

The Newton Senior Center is particularly beautiful, with a lovely facade and out door sitting area.

My favorite aspect, is the filled bike rack. :]

80. Pro-person signage

Think about the wheel chair accessable signs you usually see. Its a person like figure, sitting above a circle, waiting for life to come and act on it. Now look at this picture:

Look at the action in this figure. In mental health we talk about pro-client language. A person with bipolar disorder instead of a bipolar person. This signage gives the client agency in an very uncommon way. Gold stars to the Newton Senior Center!

79. Ornamental Flowers

The Shoppes at Derby St, Hingham, MA are almost worth their high prices for the lovely ambience they have created. Beautiful classical music piped in, and lovely landscaping with their flowers.

78. Biking Down Morrissey Blvd

I drive down Morrissey many times a week but have very few opportunities to see what the neighborhood is like. The afternoon we rode over here was refreshing for health and for perspective.

75. Non-destructive pranks

I saw this one morning in the parking lot at work. No permanent damage to the car, but it sure gave me a chuckle.

74. Other People's Voicemail Messages

I'm currently doing some apartment hunting, so I get to listen to many different styles of voicemail messages.

The best I have heard thus far was yesterday where I was advised to "make it a great day". Not have, but make it so.

Make it a great day.

71. Cardinals

While riding to the supermarket last evening I happened to spy a cardinal sitting on a fence. My grandmother's favorite bird (and baseball team) was the cardinal(s). Every time I see one it reminds me of her, and makes me feel like she is still with me.

70. Different points of view

Everyone takes the traditional front view picture of MIT's great dome. This back view, which I stumbled upon unexpectedly gives yet another lovely view, with lots of flora.
